KING’S Ely’s string musicians were on top form for their Strings by Candlelight concert at Ely St Mary’s Church.

The atmospheric concert on March 15th saw music by Bach, Haydn, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky expertly tackled by the school’s dedicated string players. From the young quartets and senior piano trios to the impressive 17 piece cello ensemble and the wonderful collective sound of King’s Ely Senior String Orchestra, the pupils were warmly appreciated by the large gathering.

The concert was directed by Neil and Nikki Porter-Thaw, and was free to attend.
