Support through charitable giving is very important to us.
Support Us
Your generosity can support the provision of extra resources that enhance life at King’s Ely. It also helps maintain the school’s historic buildings and fund new capital projects that are needed.
Bequests |
---|
Bequest, or legacy, is often the greatest gift that a person can make. King’s Ely has been fortunate to receive many generous legacies over the years, evidence of such is all around our school. We thank all those who have already made provision in their wills. If you can, please tell us of your bequest so that we can thank you during your lifetime and welcome you into our donors’ group, the Eliensis Society. Making a bequest is a private and personal matter but if you wish to discuss your intentions, please contact the Development Office. Discussions are always treated in confidence and if you decide to remain anonymous, your request will be respected. Please download the below document for more information. |
Ways of giving |
We appreciate every donation and we will use it carefully. All gifts are important to us, large and small. Online: This is the easiest way to give a single or regular gift. We have chosen to use BTDonate as they are commission free, meaning more of your donation reaches us. You can also add Gift Aid to your donation in one easy step. Offline: Single gifts can be made by cheque (please make cheques payable to: ‘The King’s School Ely’. We can also accept CAF vouchers. Please complete and return a Gift Form and send it with your donation to the Development Office. You can also use the form to spread your support over time by making a monthly, quarterly or annual gift by standing order. |
Gift Aid – Maximise your gift’s value |
King’s Ely is a registered charity, no. 802427, and can claim an additional 25p for every £1 given through Gift Aid. For example, a donation of £100 is worth £125. If you are a UK taxpayer, please complete the Gift Aid declaration on the Gift Form and we will do the rest with HMRC. A higher rate taxpayer can claim back an additional amount in their tax return, so their gift costs even less! |
Gifts in kind |
Items ranging from antiques to air miles, paintings or property are most welcome. In-kind gifts can be given tax effectively by UK tax payers. Alternatively, you may decide to purchase a specific item for a school department. If so, please contact the Development Office to check that your choice is still needed and to ensure that your gift is made tax efficient. |
Company match gifts |
Some companies will match their employees’ charitable donations. This brilliant scheme encourages charitable giving and effectively doubles your donation. Check with your HR Department. |

Bursaries |
The gift of education will not only last a lifetime but has the capacity to be life changing. Our bursaries are means-tested and the process is thorough and impartial, ensuring that our funds go to those who are most deserving. Throughout each year we receive applications for help in times of unexpected hardship, enabling children to experience continuity and stability when they need it most. If you feel that you or your child benefitted from an education at King’s Ely then please support our Bursary fund. |
