HOPE and freedom were among the themes celebrated in our End of Lent Term Service at Ely Cathedral on March 30th.

Students and staff from Years 3 through to Year 13 came together for the service, as well as parents and friends of the school.

Hymns included ‘Ride on, Ride on, in Majesty’, which speaks of Jesus’ final journey into Jerusalem.

King’s Voices, which is King’s Ely Junior’s Chamber Choir, sang a version of ‘Ubi Caritas’, accompanied by clarinets. King’s Ely Senior Chapel Choir sang ‘Steal Away’, a song which speaks of freedom from slavery and the words of which appear in Michael Tippett’s Oratorio, ‘A Child of our Time’.

Revd Dr Ros Lane, our School Chaplain, spoke about the message of hope that Easter brings, and she reminded us of some remarkable stories of hope in our everyday lives, including the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
