In which year group did you join King’s Ely?

I joined King’s Ely Senior in Year 9.

What GCSE grades did you achieve this summer?

I achieved nine grade 9s, one grade 8, one grade 7 and an A* in Further Maths.

Were you pleased with your results?

I was really pleased with all of my results, especially Greek, History and Religious Studies as I achieved higher grades than I was expecting.

Were you well supported by your teachers in the lead up to your exams?

Yes I was. My teachers gave me relevant revision material during the run up to the exams. All that was needed was to use the given material consistently and work/revise well in the way that suited you (for me practice questions). I did not receive any extra support.

Why have you chosen to stay at King’s Ely for Sixth Form, and what are you most looking forward to?

I have chosen to stay at King’s Ely for Sixth Form, mainly because it is extremely convenient for me! I am looking forward to studying the subjects I enjoy at A Level.

What A Level subjects are you going to be studying and, if you know this yet, what sort of career are you hoping to pursue?

I am studying Further Maths, Chemistry, Latin and AS Greek; I am unsure of the sort of career I am hoping to pursue at the moment.

What extra-curricular and enrichment activities are you/have you been involved with at King’s Ely, and how do you feel this enhances your experience of school?

Sports wise, I have played squash, badminton and table tennis at King’s Ely, which has helped me get to know people from different year groups. I also played the trumpet for three years, which really helped me with my organisation skills.

In what ways do you think King’s Ely is different to other schools?

I have an attachment to King’s Ely as it is situated very close to where I live. I also enjoy the fact that the school is quite spread out as it feels bigger; it also feels a part of Ely itself, like a cog in its system. I feel that the House system allows you to get to know people from other year groups and there are plenty of great teachers who help you to understand the subjects and encourage you into wanting to know more about that subject.
