OUR Under 15 Cricket girls were on top form at the Lady Taverners Schools Indoor Cricket Tournament in Littleport on February 28th, resulting in them being crowned District Champions!
Jim Thompson, Director of Sport at King’s Ely, said: “After beating Neal Wade in the first game, thanks to a match winning batting performance from Ali Bowerman, the girls put on a superb team performance against Littleport, to win by 57 runs to become District Champions.
“The girls bowled accurately in both games, made some outstanding catches in the field and played some varied shots with the bat.
“They were also very supportive of each other throughout and showed plenty of encouragement after every ball or shot played.
“Well done to all the girls – we now look forward to the county matches in a few weeks’ time!”
