KING’S Ely musicians, Alexandra Bowerman and Thomas Bateman, were on fine form singing with Hertford Choral Society on June 25th.

Tom and Ally, who are both in Year 12, starred as soloists in the Society’s sell-out ‘Jazzing it Up’ concert, which was held at All Saints’ Church, Hertford and was conducted by renowned Choral and Orchestral Conductor, Manvinder Rattan.

Manvinder met and was impressed by Ally and Tom when he adjudicated our Senior Vocal Festival Finalists’ Concert at Ely Cathedral in March this year.

Helen Briggs, Head of Academic Music at King’s Ely Senior, supported Tom and Ally by attending the concert. She said: “Tom and Ally performed to a full audience and wowed them with their voices and performances. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to sing outside of school and learn new repertoire. It was also a treat to sing with the renowned Chris Eldred Jazz Trio!”
