King’s Ely Sixth Form student, Emily Williams, and several Old Eleans have visited Buckingham Palace this week to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.

Emily, who is in Year 13, is our Head Pupil Instructor for Ely Scheme (Outdoor Education). She received her Gold DofE Award on Monday (May 15th) and her father, Simon, travelled from Hong Kong for the occasion.

Emily was joined by Timothy Wyndham-Smith, our DofE Manager, who received a special invite to the ceremony in recognition of his 15-year service to the DofE Award Scheme.

Several Old Eleans also attended the event on May 15th or today’s (May 19th’s) ceremony to receive their Gold DofE Awards. Congratulations to: Sam Barber, Benjamin Biggs, Thomas Biggs, Edward Chittenden, Ka Yeung Choi, Charlotte Ellis, Oscar Hills, Oliver Johnson, Clarence Sung Yan Law, Eleanor MacGillivray, Alexander Scarborough, Amelia Shaw, Molly van Poortvliet, and Beatrice Whymark!
