FOR the third year running, King’s Ely was invited to showcase examples of excellence related to the field of fashion design at Burghley Horse Trials.
With over 160,000 visitors over four days, more than 600 carefully selected exhibitors, an average of 80 of the world’s top competitors and a prize fund of £250,000, today’s Burghley Horse Trials is a far cry from the inaugural event, which took place more than 50 years ago with just 19 competitors and in front of a mere 12,000 people.
The exhibition took place in the Rural Crafts Pavilion, amongst artists and designers selling work ranging from furniture and ceramics to textiles and jewellery.
Head or Art, Alison Rhodes, said: “The King’s Ely stand attracted visitors by showcasing the talents of our sixth form fashion students, giving us the chance to promote all aspects of the school, from Acremont through to Senior.
“We have been invited to exhibit again in 2016 and look forward to this high profile event.”
