OUR Years 9 and 10 Sports Scholars were in their element when they visited the Human Performance Unit (HPU) at the University of Essex.

The HPU is part of the School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences at the University of Essex. It is known for its world-class facilities and support for individuals and teams from all sporting backgrounds and abilities.

Our trip there on September 23rd enabled students to have full access to the HPU’s facilities, including its state-of-the-art sports science lab testing rooms, its high performance gymnasium and its sports hall, where they enjoyed a variety of fun and motivating fitness tests.

The day did not just involve fitness tests though. Our Scholars were also given a tour of the University campus and treated to a fascinating talk and presentation by the University’s Head of Performance Nutritionist.

Thank you to the HPU Team for being so inspiring – our Years 11-13 Sports Scholars are looking forward to their visit on September 30th!
