KING’S Ely Sixth Form student Kaida (Henry) Zheng has designed and crafted his own violin from scratch.

It is the first violin that Henry, 18, has made and it has taken him around 3 years to complete.

Henry, from Beijing, said: “I started making it when I was 13 years old but due to the fact that I go to school everyday, I have only been able to focus on making it after school and during the holidays.

“I finished the white violin in 2015 and worked on the paint for another year. I have been playing the violin since the age of 3, which means I have been playing it for more than 15 years!”
