GOOD luck to everyone competing in this evening’s (March 25th) Senior Instrumental Music Festival Finalists’ Concert!

Musicians in Years 9-13 have been battling it out in year group safety bubbles ahead of the concert, which is being streamed live from the Recital Hall due to the current circumstances.

Neil Porter-Thaw, Director of Music at King’s Ely, said: “We are sorry that Covid restrictions mean the event will be without an audience, but it appears that one good thing that has come out of lockdown is the amount of time students have devoted to their instruments – the improvement in some areas is astonishing!

“This concert is going to be quite an event and will showcase some extraordinary talent. Our adjudicator is renowned musician, Sarah James, hailed by The Times as ‘A player of real charisma’.”

Congratulations to every single student who has competed in the festival and good luck to those who have made the final – Alex Millard, Connor Marshall, Sam Trueman, Ayala Gate, Lily McCallum, James Schoenberg, Miriam Reveley, Eleanor MacGillivray, James Wilkinson, Charlotte Bradley and Eleanor Wallace!

The streaming link will be available from 19:00 and all are welcome to tune in: https://bit.ly/instrumentalfinal
