ALL King’s Ely Senior students are being encouraged to keep fit and active by taking part in a Run/Cycle Challenge this half term!

Students in Years 9-13 can take on the following challenges and then enter their evidence on an online forum created specifically for the event:

Run – 1km/2km/3km/5km/10km
Cycle – 10km/20km/30km/50km/100km

The competition is running through to the end of the Summer Term, with various prizes being awarded each week and then final awards at the end of term.

Physical Education Teacher, Patrick Green, said: “Rewards are given for every entry, with additional prizes for a variety of achievements such as fastest time in each category, furthest cumulative distance, most consistent performer, most improved and many more.

“There has already been a great uptake from both pupils and staff this week, with entries being made into every single category, including an amazing 100km cycle from Sam Barber and Will Buckingham. It has even motivated pupils to try different styles of training to achieve their targets such as hill sprints, long distance runs or even just using their bike to travel to Cambridge. Charlotte Ellis even saw a peacock on the way but was so dedicated to her training that she unfortunately didn’t stop to take a picture!”

Well done to all those who have got involved so far (including Sophie and Lottie pictured) keep the entries coming!
