Our Reception classes at King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep have been learning all about ‘Biomes: Exploring Biodiversity’. So, as we approach the end of term, what better way to enrich the children’s topic than with a visit to Banham Zoo!

The pupils and seven members of staff had a whale of a time exploring the 50-acre, Norfolk-based attraction on March 12th, despite the weather not being very kind to them.

The children got to see so many different creatures and critters, many of which they have been learning about in class – penguins, giraffes, tigers, owls, meerkats, parakeets, flamingos, wallabies, red pandas and spider monkeys, to name just some.

Reception were impeccably behaved and they have been buzzing about the trip ever since they returned to school. Trips and experiences like this are such a vital and impactful way of augmenting the children’s learning!
