WE were pleased to welcome Bob Tait from Drug Education UK into school on October 18th.

Bob gave two fascinating talks about substance abuse and the law to our Year 10 and Year 12 pupils as part of our Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education programme.

Bob, who has many years’ experience in the Armed Forces and in the Drugs Squad, had students and staff captivated during his talks, which took place less than a week after recovering drug addict, Ian Mahony, spoke to our Year 11 and Year 13 students about the realities of addiction.

Neil Urwin, our Head of PSHE, said: “Iain and Bob are two very different outside speakers, who educated our students about two very different aspects of drug-related issues. However, both talks were delivered most professionally and provided pupils with an insight into the realities and consequences of making the wrong choices.”
