PHYSICAL comedy was the theme of King’s Ely’s first Theatre Masterclass of the new academic year.

Dave Hearn, from Mischief Theatre, popped into school on September 19th to run the masterclass, which was attended by a group of very energetic students.

Teacher of Drama at King’s Ely Junior, Kathryn Sudbury, said: “Dave helps devise the physical routines for the company and has appeared in all of their shows, including The Play That Went Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and The Christmas Carol That Went Wrong.

“The students were put through their paces and taught how to fall off platforms, tip off chairs, walk into doors and trip up steps all in the name of comedy. A lot of fun was had by all!”

The school’s next Theatre Masterclass is due to take place on October 3rd and will be run by Nick O’Brien from the Stanislavski Experience.
