KUDOS to King’s Ely Junior pupil, Oliver Loveday, for his victory at the National Preparatory Schools’ Athletics Championships!
Oliver, who is in Year 8, joined top athletes from prep schools across the UK to compete in the National Championships at Pingles Athletics Stadium in Nuneaton on July 4th.
Oliver, who has been at King’s since joining King’s Ely Acremont Nursery, ran in the Under 14 Boys’ 800m race and not only came first, but also achieved a new personal best by crossing the finish line in 2 minutes and 9 seconds.
Oliver qualified for the National Championships after winning the same category at the Regional Heats in Bedfordshire, where he also broke the competition record by 2 seconds.
