CONGRATULATIONS to King’s Ely Junior pupil, Ned Hallifax, who has raised more than £1,600 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of his grandfather.

As many of you will know, Ned, who is in Year 6, set himself a challenge in March to walk 70 kilometres in memory of his grandad, Pete, who died in 2009, having lived with Motor Neurone Disease since 2002.

Ned completed his challenge on April 24th, which would have been Pete’s 70th birthday. Ned set himself a fundraising target of £700 but has smashed that thanks to generous donations from family and friends, and is up to £1,674 so far.

Ned said: “I am so grateful for all the support and donations to a cause that means so much to me and my family – it definitely kept my tired legs motivated! Thank you everyone.”
