CONGRATULATIONS to King’s Ely Senior student, Lizzie Newman, who has been selected to attend a National Mathematics Summer School run by the UK Mathematics Trust.

Lizzie, who is in Year 11, is one of only 48 students in the UK chosen to attend the five-night residential programme at Woodhouse Grove School in Yorkshire during the summer holidays.

Pupils who are among the top 1.5% of scorers in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge are invited to attend the summer school, which is organised annually for young people who have an interest in mathematics. The programme aims to promote mathematical thinking and provides an opportunity for participants to meet other students who enjoy mathematics.

Lizzie has confirmed her place and says she is very much looking forward to the challenge!
