SWEET sounds filled the school’s Hayward Theatre as pupils, parents and staff came together there for King’s Ely Junior’s House Music Competition Finalists’ Concert.

The event, held on July 2nd, was the culmination of what has been a fantastic four weeks of music making, with a whopping 202 pieces being performed by pupils before the semi-finals day, which was adjudicated expertly by Graham Griggs. The decisions were difficult as the overall performances were of a very high standard.

The winners of the semi-finals then came together to perform in the Finalists’ Concert. The adjudicator was award-winning saxophonist, Christian Forshaw, who is most famous for his Sanctuary Ensemble recordings.

The Year 3/4 Prize went to Christian-Peter, Tia won the Year 5/6 Prize and the Year 7/8 Prize went to Lily. Congratulations to all pupils for what has been a fantastic year of music making!
