The King’s Ely Equestrian Team enjoyed a number of individual and team successes at the Jays Arena Eventing in Suffolk at the weekend.

It was a win in the 80cms class for the team comprising Katie Cameron, Ryan Shaw, Rebecca Everitt and Thea Holdaway. Katie was also placed first individually.

Ellie Grimsey popped round the 60cms and was instrumental in the 70cms team, being placed fifth. Ellie herself came second, which was a great help to team mates Rebecca and Ryan.

The 90cms class saw Thea and Katie competing as individuals. This class produced another win for Katie, who was also placed fifth in the 1m.

King’s Ely Equestrian Team Trainer, Sue Cameron, said: “The weather and early starts don’t seem to be deterring the keen riders from the school, who have enjoyed a successful Michaelmas Term.

“The more junior riders are increasingly gaining experience and ring craft, which is strengthening the team.”

King’s Ely currently has 17 riders ranging from the ages of 9 to 15.
