KING’S Ely is more than a school. We are a community; and for pupils and staff in Reception at King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep right the way through to Year 13 at King’s Ely Sixth Form to be able to come together in Ely Cathedral this morning (February 11th) for the first time since the pandemic started felt amazing!

King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep led the Mid-Term Service and to see the children reading and singing with such energy and confidence was wonderful (and a tad emotional!). Congratulations to Isabelle, Tanaya, Adam and Alexander for their fantastic readings and prayers, and well done to all the children for their beautiful song, ‘Inside My Heart’, with Mrs Monk and Mr North.

We were delighted to welcome Kevin Hennessy from The Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs and Northants along to the service to receive a cheque for £2,112.56p – the fruits of King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep’s fundraising last academic year. Ned and Penelope, two of our Year 1 School Councillors, presented Mr Hennessy with the cheque.

Thank you to Mr Hennessy for speaking about some of the fantastic work The Wildlife Trusts does, and thank you to parents and families who were able to attend the service in a safe and responsible way – it was lovely to see you!
