KING’S Ely Senior student, Lily McCallum, has helped to raise £10,000 for a charity which supports the homeless.

Lily, who is in Year 9 and is from Ely, formed part of the evening’s entertainment at a Masked Charity Ball, held recently in aid of SMART Prebend Centre, a charity run by her mum, Anita, and which supports homeless and vulnerable people in Bedfordshire.

Anita said: “Lily played a medley of classical music as people arrived for the Ball. Lily is proof that the Music department at King’s Ely is thriving and producing musicians of great quality.

“She plays in many of the school orchestras and ensemble groups and has achieved her Grade 8 Cello with Distinction. Lily can be rightly proud of being part of the team that raised a significant amount for the homeless.”

Congratulations to Lily and everyone involved in making the Masked Ball such a great success!

The charity’s latest campaign is on supporting rough sleepers and the homeless through the cold winter months ahead. To find out how you could help, go to: https://bit.ly/2Ng0gej
