JONNY Smith, a Teacher of English at King’s Ely Senior, has co-written a musical production which opened at Drayton Arms Theatre in London today (January 23rd).

‘Scotch Egg The Musical’ – created by Jonny (lyrics) and Dom Hartley (music) – is set in the future (2040) and tells the story of Boris Johnson being interviewed on TV about how the pandemic was handled.

The musical is full of tongue-in-cheek commentary, but also explores all the profound questions: What makes a life worth living? Is democracy dead? Does a scotch egg really constitute a substantial meal?

The production has also been supported by King’s Ely Teachers Natasha Hobbs (choreography), Laura Dixon-Smith (assistant director) and Steve Merrell (film production).

Performances are on January 23rd and 24th, although tickets for all three shows sold out fast!
