OUR A Level Physicists were on fantastic form in the British Physics Olympiad, achieving two Top Gold awards, six Bronze awards and four Commendations.

The British Physics Olympiad encourages the study of Physics and recognises excellence in young physicists through annual Physics competitions.

Eleanor MacGillivray and Chris Yi, who are both in Year 13, achieved ‘Top Gold’ awards in the competition. This places them in the highest achieving 7% of entrants nationally, and secures them a place in the second round and to compete for places in the British Olympiad Physics Team!

Bronze awards were achieved by Filippos Papafilippou (Year 13), Shawn Ding (Year 12), Joseph Coppin (Year 12), Hanson Xu (Year 12), Freddie Hills (Year 12) and Alex Song (Year 13).

Blaine Zhou (Year 13), William Biggs (Year 12), CJ Trevochka (Year 12) and Johnnie Rudd (Year 12) achieved Commendations.

Ned Kittoe, Head of Science and Physics at King’s Ely Senior, said: “We are extremely proud of our students’ achievements in the British Physics Olympiad – our heartfelt congratulations go to them all.”
