KING’S Ely Junior pupil Keira Mavin has passed her Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Junior Open Water Diver qualification.
The examination involved pool exercises, theory tests and four open water dive assessments, each lasting up to an hour, over a period of two weeks.
The qualification now enables Keira to dive in the ocean to a depth of 12 metres with other certified divers, and means she can accompany her dad as a ‘buddy’ as he is a qualified PADI Rescue Diver.
