KING’S Ely Sixth Form students Kate Feng and Lexy Chen, and Old Elean Maisie Barlow, won prizes in this year’s East Cambridgeshire Schools Art Competition.

For the ninth year running, Ely’s Babylon Gallery and Ely Hereward Rotary Club joined forces to run the annual competition, in which Kate, Lexy and Maisie won the Key Stage 5 category.

More than 200 local students aged 4-18 took part in the contest and the winning entries were then exhibited to the public at the Babylon Gallery.

Jeff Hide, President of Ely Hereward Rotary Club, said: “We are so pleased to offer our young talented artists studying in the district the opportunity to see their work displayed in this professional gallery setting. We’re incredibly grateful to all the local shops and businesses which support the exhibition, without their support this couldn’t happen.”
