King’s Ely Boat Club enjoyed a tremendous start to the racing season at April 20th’s Junior Inter-Regional Regatta!

All six King’s rowers who represented the Eastern region in the British Rowing event at the National Water Sports Centre, Nottinghamshire came home with medals.

Caitlin Morton competed in the girl’s single (WJ15 1x) category. Caitlin came 5th out of 26 boats in the time trial, which put her through to the A final for the B boats in this category. After a very close race with a strong push to the finish, Caitlin placed 3rd and achieved a Bronze medal.

Thomas Peters, Oliver Biggs, Theo Logan, Seb Thompson and Thomas Strudwick competed in the J15 boys’ coxed 4+ (J15 4+) category. They performed a brilliant time trial, placing 2nd overall out of 12 boats, which put them through to the A final in the afternoon. After a strong start in the final, the boys stayed out ahead and strong to place 2nd overall and achieve Silver medals!
