THIRTY King’s Ely students from Years 9 to 13 competed in the Cambridge Small Boats Head on Saturday, September 30th.

The course is one of the most challenging in the country as it includes three very sharp and fast corners that students need to navigate whilst, in many cases, overtaking crews.

There were some really great performances from our students and it was especially pleasing to see five Year 9 double sculls attacking the course.

King’s Ely finished the day with fastest crews in the following events:

WJ 14 2x – Freja Barnham and Elizabeth Thomson

WJ 15 1x – Georgia Chapman

J17 1x – Alex Millard

WJ17 2x – Rebecca Garrett and Alice Dickens

WJ18 1x – Emily Moore

WJ18 2x – Rebecca Garrett and Emily Moore

J18 2x – Alex Millard and Will White (fastest Junior crew of the day)

In addition to the above winners, King’s Ely rowers also secured minor placings (2nd/3rd) in an additional seven categories.
