CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Rowers for their sterling efforts at the Marlow Town Regatta Festival on June 15th.

The regatta was a first for King’s Ely and it certainly proved to be a fantastic day of racing.

The two Year 10 boys’ doubles of Sam Martin/Hector Macdonald and Will Buckingham/Conall Comley won their heats and narrowly missed out on a win in the finals.

The Year 10 girls also produced some quality racing with two crews making the doubles’ final. Charlotte Ellis and Isabella Boutwood raced incredibly well to finish 2nd as Mia Gray and Otilia Salgado stormed to secure King’s Ely’s first Gold medal of the day.

The Year 9 double of Gabriel James/Alex Hooper produced the race of the day in their final, which was so close it was called a dead heat. A re-row took place which they won by a length!

To wrap up a hat-trick of wins, Rahera Greatrex and Rebecca Garrett produced a great performance to win Gold in the open women’s double scull, a solid result that puts them in good form running into Henley Women’s Regatta on June 22nd.

Well done all!
