OUR wonderful rowing students and staff have set themselves a special challenge this week to raise as much money as they can for the PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide charity.

The King’s Ely Boat Club was meant to be enjoying a training camp in Tilburg, Holland, this half term but obviously that, like so many other events and activities, has had to be cancelled.

This week, Boat Club members are challenging themselves, as a team, to run and/or cycle a whopping 676.8 miles, which is the distance it is from Ely to Tilburg – and back again (just under 26 marathons!).

The intrepid team kick-started their challenge yesterday (May 11th) and are hoping to complete it before the end of the week. Every penny they raise will help PAPYRUS and its amazing work with the prevention of young suicide.

Best of luck everyone – we are all rooting for you!
