TWENTY of our Year 8 King’s Ely Junior pupils travelled to the Copper Box, Olympic Park, London to take part in the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championship.

The students took part in an individual 3 minute race in the morning and a team relay in the afternoon. Many of those competing only started Rowing in January, and had been building towards the day in After School Rowing Club, which is held at King’s Ely on Tuesdays.

All the pupils gave it their very best and a number of personal bests were achieved, including top 40 finishes for Robert Banwell, Thomas Alderton, Heather Norris and Elanda Cundy; a very creditable performance in a national competition!
