YEAR 4 King’s Ely Junior students visited the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park in Leicestershire to launch the term’s theme of ‘Battles, Beheadings and Banquets’.

A tour of the battlefield area during the visit, held on April 19th, provided a great opportunity for the pupils to learn more about the events of the momentous day that launched the Tudor dynasty. The interactive exhibition gave the children the opportunity to try on real chain mail and learn more about those involved in the battle.

There was also a visit to a soldier’s camp to find out about the various weapons used and a trip to the barber surgeon to hear about the gruesome treatments and cures practiced in the period!
