Glorious sunshine shone over our IGCSE students as they celebrated the completion of their intensive, one-year course here at King’s!

Having had less than two terms to prepare for their examinations – and all of their studies being in a second language – the 30-strong King’s Ely International (KEI) cohort were delighted (and somewhat relieved!) to be able to unwind and reflect on their achievements; academically, pastorally, and socially, with an afternoon of awards and fun.

The celebrations took place in the Old Palace Lecture Theatre on June 16th, and they were very much led by our KEI students from all corners of the globe, with pupils awarding each other prizes, writing their own speeches, and even two of them, Jakob and Allison, performing their own choices of music. Subject Prizes, Major Prizes, and Course Certificates were presented!

After the ceremony, students and KEI staff tucked into a scrumptious barbecue (thank you Catering Team!), enjoyed music, signed each other’s shirts, and cooled down with a water fight in Hill House Gardens.

We never cease to be amazed by what our KEI students achieve. We wish this year’s cohort every success in their next chapter, whether in our Sixth Form or elsewhere!

All of our KEI students are full-time boarders at King’s, and this week is the Boarding Schools’ Association’s (BSA) National Boarding Week. Running from June 19th-25th and sponsored by Schoolblazer, the annual campaign celebrates the brilliance of British boarding schools.
