WE were delighted to welcome Cathy Wright, Project Director for Ely Foodbank, to one of our King’s Ely Junior Harvest Services at Ely Cathedral on October 7th.

Cathy spoke to pupils and staff about how the Foodbank has been operating during the pandemic and how the generosity of members of the public is really helping to support families in need.

As a school community, we are collecting as many items as possible for the Foodbank. The Foodbank says the following items are particularly needed in Ely and East Cambridgeshire:

Toiletries, including soap, shower gel, deodorant, toilet rolls, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

Tinned foods, including pulses, vegetables, meats, fish and soups.

Tinned puddings, including fruit, custard and rice puddings.

Items can be dropped off at all Main Reception points at King’s Ely Acremont, King’s Ely Junior and King’s Ely Senior, including the Old Palace.
