THE King’s Ely community is saddened by the death of a dear friend of the school, Jo Slogrove.
Jo’s husband, Richard, was Jeff Hayes’ predecessor as Chairman of Governors, and Jo was particularly proud of and engaged with Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir, of whom she was a stalwart supporter.
Jo died on the evening of November 12th after a short final illness.
Principal of King’s Ely, Sue Freestone, said: “Our community benefitted enormously from Jo’s contribution and our thoughts and prayers are with Richard, their daughter Emma and granddaughter Bella.”
Jo’s funeral will take place at Ely Cathedral on Wednesday, November 28th at 11.30am.
