King's Ely at the London Knit + Stitch Show 2025

October 2025

London's 2025 Knit + Stitch Show was a resounding success for King's!

Not only did we have an exhibition of Fashion and Textile Design by talented GCSE and A-Level students at the event again this year, but a team of our A-Level designers were also invited to model their creations on the catwalk - as well as garments made by professional fashion designer, Drew Kent.

This year's Knit + Stitch Show took place at Alexandra Palace from October 9th-12th, and attracted 30,000 people from across the world!

Mrs Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King's Ely Senior, said: "The theatre was absolutely packed for the King’s Ely catwalk show. All seats were taken and there was standing room only. Our students were all fantastic, and they received such strong feedback. The catwalk show was an invaluable opportunity for the students to showcase their work, and visitors then wanted to see their garments again in closer detail by visiting our exhibition stand.

"The next catwalk show involved our students modelling the sculptural knitwear collection by Central Saint Martins graduate and British Fashion Council scholar, Drew Kent. His collection was a highly complex range of garment designs exploring glamorous crochet and knit, and an abundance of sculptural aspects with elements of humour. His design aim is to create bold silhouettes.

"Drew said that our students were the most professional that he had worked with throughout his touring fashion shows, and he is very keen to work with King's again. There was also a chance to chat to Caz Wilson, winner of the Great British Sewing Bee 2025.

"The Knit + Stitch Show was bursting at the seams with creativity and innovation! It was a wonderful opportunity to promote the incredible work of our young designers. Our students were exhibiting their work alongside graduates, and so it is such a privilege to have King’s Fashion and Textile Design recognised in this way.

"We are incredibly proud of our students and the high level of professionalism that they displayed throughout the exhibition and in the catwalk shows."

Bravo students, and thank you to Mrs Rhodes and her team for always going above and beyond to create advantageous opportunities for the pupils!
