YEAR 13 leaver, Josh Jackson, is off to Loughborough University after achieving the A Level grades he needed this summer.

We had a quick catch-up with Josh before he starts his new adventure:

Josh, in which year group did you join King’s Ely?

“I joined King’s Ely Acremont in Nursery One!”

Which University/Institution are you going to and what will you be studying?

“I’m heading to Loughborough and I will be studying International Relations.”

What career path do you hope to pursue?

“I would like to have a career that is related to my degree, whether that is a Diplomat, Politician or Civil Servant. I wouldn’t mind which one but I am very interested in what I am going to be studying so I would like to follow my interest into a suitable job.”

How do you think King’s Ely prepared you for University life?

“I think King’s prepared me really well through the sheer amount of opportunities that the school provided me with, all of which vastly grew my confidence. These include the Tall Ships Expedition and the multiple plays and musicals I was involved with during my time at school. The social aspect of King’s has also helped to prepare me for interaction with students and lecturers alike.”

What will you miss most about King’s Ely and what did you enjoy most during your time here?

“I will miss many of my friends, who are also venturing off to University. I will also miss the team spirit of sport and House rivalry at King’s! It feels very strange to be branching away from King’s considering that I have spent pretty much my entire life here – I will really miss the general atmosphere and feeling of the place.”
