THE lovely Joanna Hillier completed her final shift in our Nearly New Uniform Shop today (August 31st).

Joanna has been a key member of our parent/carer volunteer team who run the shop for the last five years.

Joanna said: “I have loved being part of the team and it has been a pleasure to help parents, students, staff and even grandparents with all things uniform! I remember my first visit to King’s as a parent, and the knowledge of the volunteers and its facilities blew me away. I wanted to be a part of that and to pass on my tips and knowledge. I have made many friends and I have felt part of a lovely team. I shall miss them greatly but I am sure I will stay in touch!”

The Nearly New Uniform Shop is located at our Barton Farm Car Park, close to Hereward Hall. It is next open on Friday 2nd September from 9.30am-11am.

There are also collection bins outside the shop where uniform and kit can be safely dropped off. Items can also be left with Main Reception during office hours, Monday to Friday. Main Reception is located directly behind the shop.

The shop is low on Games kit and Junior blazers, so if you have any of these items which no longer fit your child, please consider donating them!

The shop aims to return 80% of the sold value of each item to the parent/carer. The remaining 20% goes to a school charity, which this year is for Ukrainian children who are currently living in the UK. Alternatively, uniform can be given as donations and 100% of funds raised from sales goes to charity. The shop accepts card payments only.

One parent selling their children’s outgrown uniform through the shop recently was able to recoup £466, and raised £93 for charity while doing so.

Thank you for your energy and enthusiasm, Joanna, and kudos to the whole team for their dedication throughout the summer holidays!
