YEAR 13 leaver, Grace Curcio, has joined Eckerd College in Florida to study Journalism after achieving the A Level grades she needed this summer.

We had a quick catch-up with Grace before she started her new adventure:

Grace, in which year group did you join King’s Ely?

“I joined King’s Ely Senior in Year 11.”

Which University/Institution are you going to and what will you be studying?

“I’m at Eckerd College and I’m studying Journalism.”

What career path do you hope to pursue?

“I want to be a news anchor!”

How do you think King’s Ely prepared you for University life?

“I was a member of Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir and loved it! Our intense rehearsal and performance schedule really kept me on my toes and taught me how to manage my time well – a skill I’ve found super useful here at Eckerd so far.”

What will you miss most about King’s Ely and what did you enjoy most during your time here?

“I will miss my boarding house, Etheldreda, as it was like one big family and was a very special experience. I was also heavily involved in the Drama Department at King’s – I think all the acting and singing I did really set me up nicely to move into a career in communications, and also to get my Music Scholarship here at Eckerd. I’ll miss so many things but mainly my friends and everyone in Etheldreda. I loved the family feel I got at King’s.”
