We said goodbye to our lovely Lead Nurse, Louise King, at the end of term.

Louise, who has led our Medical Centre Team for just over six years, has decided to take a step back for a break, including spending more time as a King’s parent.

Nothing could have prepared Louise and her team for the demands of the Covid-19 pandemic. From organising quarantine and mass testing through to overseeing the move of our Medical Centre to Bishop Woodford House, we have a huge amount to be grateful to Louise for; not forgetting her constant calm and reassuring manner with students, staff and families.

Louise said: “I am going to miss my team in the Medical Centre and all the pupils who I have got to know over the years. Along with everyone else who works in the medical and/or educational professions, I found the pandemic extremely challenging. At times, myself and the team were working day and night for weeks on end, caring for our boarding pupils who had Covid.

“Throughout the pandemic, my team were amazing and so hard working. After a crazy couple of years, I just want to take some time out, consider my options and spend more time with my family.”

When asked to describe King’s in three words, Louise chose beautiful, lively, and community.

Thank you for everything, Louise!
