CONGRATULATIONS to skilful swimmer, Ollie Dickson, for his achievements at Corby East Midlands International Pool last weekend (March 26th-27th).

Ollie, who is in Year 9 at King’s Ely Senior and from the Huntingdon area, competed in the ‘Annual Long Course Open Meet’ with St Ives Swimming Club.

He achieved nine Top 10 placings in the ‘boys 14 year age group’ category, including two Bronze medals in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle, a Silver medal in the 100m breaststroke, and a Gold medal in the 200m breaststroke!

Ollie’s older brother, Elliot, who is in Year 12, also competed and he achieved a personal best time in the 50m freestyle. This was Elliot’s last competition for St Ives Swimming Club, which he has been a member of for seven years, as he is stepping down from squad training to concentrate on his A Levels and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award here at King’s.

Elliot will however remain with the club as a Swim England Level One Swimming Assistant, supporting the ‘Learn to Swim’ children’s programme on Sunday afternoons!
