YEAR 9 King’s Ely Senior student Daniel Millard won a Gold medal in his boys’ age group at the Cambridgeshire County Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) County Diving Skills Competition at Cambridge’s Parkside Swimming Pool on February 11th.
More importantly for Daniel, for whom the degree of difficulty of his competition dives increased on moving up an age group on January 1st, he exceeded 250 points for the first time in competition for his 10 dives – a landmark averaging over 25 points a dive!
The next competition up for Daniel is the Eastern Regional Skills in Southend in March when he needs to achieve the same level to qualify for the National Skills in Plymouth in July.
