KING’S Ely Senior student and talented footballer, Freddie Nearney, was practising the sport he loves at a prestigious Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) training camp last weekend.

After successfully trialling for the ISFA Under 15 squad, Freddie, who will be in Year 10 in September, was selected from 920 players to be part of only 32 footballers on an England Schoolboys Training Camp at Harrow School.

On the hottest weekend of the year so far, Freddie endured arduous training and matches, but says it was a “fantastic experience” and “an honour to be part of such an event”.

Freddie, who has been at King’s since joining King’s Ely Acremont Nursery, was Captain of our Under 14A team last year and he plays for Peterborough United FC’s Under 15s Academy.

Congratulations Freddie – what an awesome opportunity. We look forward to hearing if you make the ISFA Under 15 England Team later this year!
