OUR Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition students visited G’s Mushroom Farm in Littleport on November 9th.

Lorraine Davidson, our Head of Food and Nutrition, said: “The staff at G’s were fantastic and so welcoming to us all. They talked to us about the different stages of growing, grading and packaging the mushrooms – and the destinations of where they end up. G’s supply most of the supermarkets – 90% of their mushrooms are sold to Tesco.

“Our students asked a multitude of questions, including about the growing process, the production line and the career opportunities available. We were very proud of them and how they conducted themselves. We all really enjoyed the experience and didn’t even mind the clothing we had to wear in order to tour the factory!”
