Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Antrim Grammar School, Dundee University, The College of Law (York), University of Cambridge.

Your previous role and place of work:

Too many to mention! For a long time I was Senior Tutor in a Cambridge comprehensive.

What are you most looking forward to about working at King’s Ely?

Being part of an ambitious and supportive learning community with shared values and aspirations. Being part of a historic community building a future!

Hobbies/interests outside of school:

I learned to row about five years ago and completed the Great Ouse Marathon last year in a quad. I’m really looking forward to getting out for a paddle again!

Any pets?

Two dogs, Henry and Rupert (Westie and Toy Poodle cross, apparently known as a Woodle) and two cats, Monica and Phoebe.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A lawyer!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

To be Mary Poppins (life would be soooo much easier)!

What was the last book you read?

‘The House of the Mosque’ by Abdolah Kader.

What song are you most likely to sing at a karaoke?

‘Dancing Queen’ – very badly!

What is your favourite film?

‘The Money Pit’, starring Tom Hanks and Shelley Long – it always makes me laugh.

Do you have any phobias or fears?

I can’t even type the word, they make me feel so sick just thinking about them, scurrying around.

Name three things you would want with you if stranded on a desert island for a week:

My kindle, mascara and a Fortnum and Mason hamper.
