Full name:

Nicholas James Huntington (sounds posh!)

Where did you grow up?

Bedford (not so posh!)

Education:

Bedford Modern School, University of Lincoln (Undergraduate), The Actor’s Company (drama school training), University of Buckingham (PGCE).

Your current role at King’s Ely and how long you have been a member of staff here:

I am Director of Drama and Theatre. I first arrived at King’s Ely in November 2007.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

The good humour of the pupils… and watching them thrive on stage during production nights!

Hobbies/interests outside of school:

Cooking! There’s nothing better than hosting a great dinner party, eating lovely food and drinking cheap white wine. I’m extremely competitive so I do love winning board games or attempting to thrash my enemies on Mariokart. I also have a bizarre obsession with watching ‘A Place in the Sun’ on Channel 4.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A film director/writer. (There’s still time!) It was either that or an ice cream seller.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Having the powers of Mary Poppins to call on the birds to clean my house.

What was the last book you read?

‘Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Going to the Theatre (But Were Too Sloshed to Ask, Dear)’ by West End Producer.

What song are you most likely to sing at a karaoke?

‘This Is The Moment’ and ‘You Raise Me Up’ have been heard many a time!

What is your favourite film?

‘The Exorcist’ (for a good scare), ‘E.T’ (for a good cry) and ‘Bridesmaids’ (for a good laugh).

Do you have any phobias or fears?

A production set catching on fire…. again.

Name three things you would want with you if stranded on a desert island for a week:

My partner, my dog and a sea of cheap wine.
