Your current role at King’s Ely and how long you have been a member of staff here:
I am Head of Key Stage 3 in English at King’s Ely and have been here for 4 years now.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
I thoroughly enjoy working at such an historic site that is well renowned. I love telling people that I work at King’s Ely as they are often very impressed and think very highly of the school. I also enjoy the fact that I can bike to work!
Hobbies/interests outside of school:
I am very keen to keep fit so I attend a lot of gym classes such as yoga, spinning and fit-steps. I cycle to work every day and I also enjoy cooking and seeing my friends.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I had many careers in mind as a youngster! A journalist was on my list at one point, and a tennis player at one stage! I didn’t think about being a teacher until much later.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I would have the ability to take away pain. I hate seeing people upset and I always want to try and fix it!
What was the last book you read?
Dry Hard by Nick Spalding.
What song are you most likely to sing at a karaoke?
There are worst things I could do: Rizzo from Grease
What is your favourite film?
I am ashamed to admit that I love the Rocky films!
Do you have any phobias or fears?
I am terrified of spiders!
