Full name:

Gemma Scarrow

Where did you grow up?

The village of Little Thetford, just outside Ely.

Education:

I went to Little Thetford Village Primary School, then on to Witchford Village College. After college, I completed my NVQ3 in Childcare.

Your current role at King’s Ely and how long you have been a member of staff here:

I am an Early Years Practitioner at King’s Ely Acremont Nursery, and have been at King’s Ely for 20 years this year!

What do you enjoy most about working here?

Watching the children grow! Seeing them gain confidence and new skills as they move through the school is hugely rewarding.

Hobbies/interests outside of school:

I am a very creative person and I love photography, so any place I visit I always have my trusted companion, my camera! I also run my own cake decorating business which keeps me very busy.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I have always wanted to work with children.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

To stop time as time is going far too fast!

What was the last book you read?

‘Do You Know What? Life according to Freddie Flintoff’- I love a good autobiography.

What song are you most likely to sing at a karaoke?

I wouldn’t as I’m not confident enough to do so!

What is your favourite film?

I haven’t really got a favourite, I love any kind of film.

Do you have any phobias or fears?

Nope!

Name three things you would want with you if stranded on a desert island for a week:
