Fiona Sanders-Hewett

Where did you grow up?

Predominantly in Leeds and Wakefield, but also in Essex.

Education:

I have a degree in Biological Anthropology from Downing College, Cambridge; but my Part I was in Classics. After graduating I joined PwC and I trained to become a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW.

Your previous role and place of work:

My previous role was as Financial Controller for Oval Medical Technologies Limited, based on the Cambridge Research Park. They are an R&D company developing patient-centric autoinjectors.

What are you most looking forward to about working at King’s Ely?

I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new people. Oh, and the lunches!

Hobbies/interests outside of school:

I enjoy running, reading, board games with my children, making a fuss of my cats, walking the dogs.

Any pets?

Two cats and two dogs.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Prime Minister, fortunately I outgrew that idea!

What is your favourite meal/food?

Lasagne.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

To create more hours in the day!

Who is your hero?

My dad, he was a surgeon and made a big difference to a lot of lives.

What was the last book you read?

‘The Vanishing Half’ by Brit Bennett.

What is your favourite film?

I like the Die Hard movies!

Do you have any phobias or fears?

Spiders.
