YEAR 5 King’s Ely Junior pupils enjoyed a visit from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service this morning (January 6th).

Odette and Joe, both members of the Fire Service, popped into school to educate the children about road and fire safety, and to help launch their new theme in Geography – ‘Extreme Earth’.

Mrs Lonnen, who helped to organise the visit, said: “Odette and Joe were impressed with the pupils’ knowledge on safe places to cross the road, and how we can minimise risk and prevent ourselves and others from danger related to fire. Having a tour of the fire engine, seeing the lights and hearing the different sirens brought the visit to an end. We have been provided with ‘Safety Zone’ booklets as well as online material to continue our learning on safety.”

Well done children and thank you for your time Odette and Joe!
